Thirty!

Thirty years ago this afternoon, Alan and I exchanged "I DO's."  The moment that I realized I would spend my life with him was the most calming yet most exhilarating moment I've ever experienced...and February 28, 1981 was the ONE best day of my life...it opened the door for all the other "bests" of my days.  In the past 30 years he has proven to be my savior, my distraction, my escape, my joy, my source of laughter, my strength and my peace.   He knows me better than I know myself and loves when I admit it.

He holds my heart in his hands, this handsome farmer in his plaid shirt and seed corn hat.  He completes my life despite everything I had ever believed about independence and I would not be whole without him.  So we will continue our journey through the years ahead, one day at a time, arm-in-arm forever kitchen-dancing to the music of our family and farm (and occasionally some George Strait).
