QUILT by ALIX

Alix finished her quilt from our first quilting day several weeks ago and we finally got together for a photo.   It began with scraps from the scrap drawer in my sewing room and was completed with the orange border and a very funky green paisley print for the backing.  She did all the piecing herself with just a small bit of design guidance from Aunt Becky.
She cut 2 1/2" strips, stitched together groups of four or five, cut them 6" wide, and stacked them randomly, then added green polka dot sashings and framing to create her "stacked coin" lap quilt.  She did all of her stitching with Grandma's old black and gold Singer Featherweight sewing machine.
We've decided we are so glad to be girls...do boys, honestly ever have this much fun?
